So far this season there has been quite a variation in the weather in Ireland from some very cool conditions the second week of September to 23 and 24c on the weekend of the Football All Ireland. The weather is set to remain mild for some time yet but not up to those values. The best will be 20 or 21c but with night of 10 or 11c we are seeing temperatures of 3 to 4c above normal in some parts of Ireland at present.
The year has seen a lot of variations in the weather too with the really cold Spring and the hot July now followed by quite a mild end to September and sea temperatures around the coast of Ireland up to 20c last week. These are some of the highest sea temperatures that have ever been recorded off the Irish Coast.
Look out for some more mild weather in October before the heavy rain arives from the South around the 4th of the month resulting in a change of wind direction eventually and things moving to a more changeable and mobile Westerly.
