Long Range Weather Forecast for December for Ireland

December 2014 is going to be characterized by a mixture of all types of Winter weather. After one of the mildest years on record there will be some cold days in December with frost and fog especially in the first half of the month. As the month goes on there is going to be more in the way of precipitation so the frosts wont be as plentiful with all of the wind as well. Temperatures will be around 6 to 9c some of the time and there will be an odd day that it gets up to 14c.

However the month will trend with High Pressure to the South of Ireland and Lows to the North trying to bring cold arctic air but only succeeding briefly which will result in a lot of days of wintry showers with some snow on hills.

Highs during the frequent cold snaps throughout the month will be 4 to 7c.

Christmas is currently looking cool and windy with showers some maybe wintry.
