March to get drier after Winter of discontent

A drier March is on the cards after Ireland was battered by gales and rain for most of the Winter. In fact there were only 6 days that it did not rain in parts of the West and in 2014 just 2!! So far parts of Cork have had nearly 40% of their annual rainfall in just 2 months.

SO are we owed some dry weather. The answer is YES YES YES. There are a lot of signals that March and April will bring a good deal of dry weather to balance the books so to speak. March looks like improving after a poor start with temperatures of up to 14 or 15c possible in the South and East. Follow more on twitter @weathergossipco

Stormy Winter to persist

In what can only described as one of the wettest Windiest winters with 10 storms and severe coastal damage it makes it look like a normal wet day ain't too bad.
Dry days are few and far between and everyone goes outside feeling really happy,
So far there are 37 days gone in 2014 and Sligo has recorded rainfall on 35 of them.
Next 2 storms Saturday south of Ireland and Tuesday everywhere with a sleety mix.
After this or at least after February 15 things get calmer but still showery.
Temperatures will be 6c
