Summer to improve for 2nd half

So far Summer 2020 has been as depressing as 2020. Now however there is a chink of light at the end of the tunnel. The end of July and most of August look like being warm and mostly dry more especially in the East and South of Ireland.

There will be more cloud in more Northern and Western parts. However these areas too will see temperatures higher than the 16c that has been the max there so far this July. Sunshine for the first 12 days of July in Sligo has been just over 20 hours but this will improve too.

Temperatures in the range of 19 to 22c can be expected for most of the rest of July and well into the 20s for August. The end of August then gets cool and unsettled again with more rain. However August will be by far the best Summer month in Ireland.

With more travel restrictions lifted it is hoped that this will bring a lot more cheer in an awful year.
