Could Hurricane Ophelia hit Ireland

There is a huuricane developing in the mid Atlantic that is headed towards Europe on Monday. Whether it retains its hurricane characteristics is open to question but certainly an interesting and potentially damaging development for Ireland.

After a cool September overall October promises much more in the way of mild weather. However it will be changeable with wind and rain at times. Though temperatures may touch 20c at times leading to some pleasant sunshine.

Rainfall for Ireland for the month will be slightly above average with the West and South receiving most of this.

As the month comes to a close there will be a renewed risk of frost and expect daytime highs at this stage down to 12 to 14c.

July Dull and Humid 2017

Well Summer 2017 has started off quite poorly apart from one good week in June when temperatures reached 28.6c in Pheonix Park.

July does not look like bringing much Summer sun but it will bring warmth with temperatures regularly in the 20s.

Rainfall will be around normal with a lot of drizzle or mist at times.

However dry spells will be common too and at the end of July there is a signal for much warmer temperatures after a cool unsettled period mid month.
