Spring unsettled and Showery after warm spell

The current warm weather while welcomed will come at a price as there is more windy and showery weather on the way for most of the rest of April after 10th. This will result in quite a number of days of blustery showers and wind and rain in Ireland and the brolly will have to be handy on most days especially if you dwell or are visiting the Atlantic side of the country.

May will see a repeat of April with some warm weather mixed with cooler more unsettled intervals.

An early indication would suggest that the Summertime will continue this pattern with a few warm and sunny spells mixed with a few unsettled spells thereby giving no sign as yet of prolonged dry spells. However the temperatures will respond on these warm days to be up to 24c.

Spring Weather Forecast for Ireland

This Spring promises a lot of warm and mild weather for Ireland after a cold and snowy start to March. This will be more of an exception rather than the rule with the temperatures in March set to vary from 8c to 16c. There will be a lot of dry and fine weather too but at times there will be some rain and drizzle for Ireland this mainly in the North and West. Things get warmer still in April with temperatures of 17 or 18c likely.

Long Range Weather Forecast for December for Ireland

December 2014 is going to be characterized by a mixture of all types of Winter weather. After one of the mildest years on record there will be some cold days in December with frost and fog especially in the first half of the month. As the month goes on there is going to be more in the way of precipitation so the frosts wont be as plentiful with all of the wind as well. Temperatures will be around 6 to 9c some of the time and there will be an odd day that it gets up to 14c.

However the month will trend with High Pressure to the South of Ireland and Lows to the North trying to bring cold arctic air but only succeeding briefly which will result in a lot of days of wintry showers with some snow on hills.

Highs during the frequent cold snaps throughout the month will be 4 to 7c.

Christmas is currently looking cool and windy with showers some maybe wintry.

November 2014 will start off on a very chilly note with showers of hail or sleet.
As the month goes on it will become milder and the temperature may get up to 15c by midmonth.
Towards the end of the month Ireland will see mild wet and windy weather with another cold snap at the very end of November.
A mixed wet and windy month - November

Then at the end of the month single figure temperatures will appear once again and there is a slight risk of snow and frost.

Cool and Unsettled Autumn

Well thats if you dont count September as Autumn which of course most people do. But September was warm and sunny so it could be classed as Summer.

October in Ireland has turned much cooler, in fact its cooler than it should be with the temperature nearly 2c below normal for this time of year. The temperatures are going to recover but that is all. The weather is going to remain unsettled with rain or showers on most days.

Maybe midmonth is going to bring a settled spell of weather but models are conflicting and the only universal prognosis is that winds will be from a Southerly source so there should be a rise in temperatures by day and night.

Storms are also forecast to occur at times during the month of October with gales over 60 knots possible in the West and South of Ireland. Heaviest rains will also be in the SOuth so if you live in Cork you are in for a soaking October!

Sligo will have rainfall of around 100mm for the month and the temperature will average out at 10.6c by the end of the month which is about average.

In Summary the forecast for October would read.

FIRST THIRD ; Cooler than Normal and Wet too

SECOND THIRD ; Dry and mild for a time

THIRD THIRD ; A return to unsettled conditions, still mild.

Warm but Changeable July

Though July is likely to be another warm month, it does look like there will be rain or drizzle at times too (what other word in the English language has 2 zs oh yeah dizzy)

There has been a warm theme all year so we may well see temperatures of 27c again this Summer but 30c like last year may not be reached. weathergossip thinks there is evidence that the Northern Hemisphere is going to have a warm cycle though there may be a few cooler snaps now and again.

Therefore the rest of Summer 2014 will be warm and sometimes sunny with an average temperature for the whole season of 1.5c OVER the general mean.

So far the temperature has broken 20c on nearly half of the days since the start of June.

Most of July will continue this trend but it will be wetter than June as is usually the case especially in the Northern Half of Ireland.

August looks a bit cooler but still dry and sunny at times with some rain.
