Summer to improve for 2nd half
There will be more cloud in more Northern and Western parts. However these areas too will see temperatures higher than the 16c that has been the max there so far this July. Sunshine for the first 12 days of July in Sligo has been just over 20 hours but this will improve too.
Temperatures in the range of 19 to 22c can be expected for most of the rest of July and well into the 20s for August. The end of August then gets cool and unsettled again with more rain. However August will be by far the best Summer month in Ireland.
With more travel restrictions lifted it is hoped that this will bring a lot more cheer in an awful year.

Will it be a snowy Winter in Ireland
I dont think that we will see a White Christmas but we may see a white January!
Overall though there is going to be a lot of cold weather and a few frosty nights too. This means we may actually see a Winter that is sunnier than the ones we normally get in Ireland. We will also see less storms this year too as they will be steered away from our shores. Prolonged calmer conditions will result in a lot of the frosty and foggy weather we will get and grass growth which was becoming quite normal during the Winter will not happen at all this Winter because the temperatures will be too low.

October Weather Forecast 2019
The month starts off on a windy note for Ireland with storm Lorenzo tracking close to the country. This will herald a period of wet and windy weather to start the month of October.
After a very wet first 10 days with gales and flooding somewhat drier with just showers. Temperatures around tye first half of October will be at or near the seasonal average of 13 to 16c.
However into week 3 it gets milder for a time with strong Southerly winds and temperatures of up to 17 to 21c.
The end of the month brings cooler weather with the risk of frost in rural areas as the temperatures dip into the low single figures.
Rainfall for the month 140 per cent

Winter set to be Colder than Average
The Winter of 2018/19 is looking like one of the colder ones we have seen. More especially the first half and especially December.
This will be due to widespread Northerly blocking where High Pressure pushes North towards Iceland and we are left in a cold flow of Easterlies.
This will likely happen during the period from October to December.
There is a possibility that there may be snow in Ireland even as early as October but widespread low level snow is not likely until December.
Sub zero temperatures will be frequent and expect lows of minus 3 in October minus 7 in November and minus 10 in December.
A low level El Nino event is beginning to take shape and I expect this to signal a milder 2nd part of Winter with heavy rains and gales.
